How does Jigsaw@work work?

Participant selecting the final 16 pieces of her jigsaw profile

Jigsaw@work is an interactive workshop that facilitates serious learning in a fun yet professional manner.

The Jigsaw

Participants are amazed and even shocked at the degree of clarity with which they recognise themselves, using a unique, 64-piece Jigsaw profiling tool. After the initial shock comes the realisation of the array of strengths and competencies that they posses and, most importantly, the impact of these qualities upon their communication, perceived behaviours and preferred style of working.

Bringing personality types alive

Jigsaw@work has developed four fictional characters to illustrate the basic personality types, inject humour and avoid uncomfortable finger pointing:

  • Eva Reddy (ever ready for action)
  • Ray O'Sunshine (spreads sunshine into people's lives)
  • Carey & the Harmonisers (strives for harmony)
  • Mr Huey Blue (maintains order)

Understanding leads to improvement

Once personal styles have been identified, activities are used to illustrate how and why individuals may clash or misunderstand one another and how, by valuing the individuality of their colleagues and adapting behaviours, they can communicate effectively and work well together.

People attending Jigsaw@work sessions are not only amazed by how much they learn about themselves on their journey of self-discovery, but how they learn to identify the behavioural and thinking preferences of others too.

Improving self-awareness and an understanding of others in this way, and learning practical techniques to improve their personal effectiveness in the workplace, in relationships and in communications, has multiple, long-lasting effects, for both the individual and the organisation.
